It's the doggie roll call: a round of pics from Sept 19, 2012. There are some new faces...and some older ones no longer with us, due to adoptions, illness, or old age.

My F1 pack is still doing great!
Here's the alpha, sweet old Ono, at 12 1/2.
Ono is a 98% British Colombian/Alaskan Interior cross.
Like the rest of my "intentional", permanent animals, he has a page on the original section of my site. :-)

Lutro, aka "Tro", aka "The Puppa Woo", aka "Golden Boy". ;-) Woo turned 9 in May. He's my straight wolf x shepherd cross, and my Heart Dog. Many of his pics come out either goofy or blurred, but he has some Flickr albums and lots of photos from out West here if you want to see more of him.



The wolfie people get really mad when Woo (or Solo) goes out for his run. Most wolfers can't be trusted offleash, but those two had a LOT of training put into them.

A DOG! Grrr! (Sissy does not like other dogs. None of them. Ever.)


Soooooo-Looooo! Solo originally came from Colorado, along with his sister Denali who passed away last year.
Like most wolfdogs, he's much less wolf than his breeder thought.
In fact, especially now that he's old and fat, Solo could probably pass for a big husky!
He's a cool old dude, though. Solo will be 13 in a week & a half.





~Even though he followed Denali to the Bridge last year, no list of *my Wolfie Kids* will ever be complete without mentioning loveable, huggable Shasta. Buddy, hardly a day goes by that I don't think of you.~


And on the other end of the spectrum from Shasta(!), here is wild, unmannerly, maniacally affectionate SISSY! She's a 98% Arctic cross girl who is becoming a great ambassador for our family.
I'm not sure how old she is...the original owners thought she was about 8 when she got here, almost 2 years ago, but they kept really bad records and the vet is convinced she's quite a bit older than that. (You'd never guess it by her energy level. *g* )
If you are a person, Sissy loves you, and she's sure you only came to see HER. If you are any other living creature...umm...better hide. hahaha
Sissy is a handful, but we really enjoy her a lot.



"Who's coming??"



Looky who's still here! Yep...Sierra will be 16 in a month or so, but is still tickin' around.
At best guess, Sierra is mixed with shepherd and husky, and about half wolf. She is a sassy little thing!





Orion's still here, too! He came without much information, but was around 10 when we got him and he's been here four years, so...he's getting up there.
Orion was originally thought to be '90% wolf and 10% coyote'. Tee hee. This may give you an idea of how easy it is to "mislabel" a dog; Orion is a low content shepherd/husky cross, perhaps 1/4 wolf *at most*.
He's a silly boy. Give him a scritch and some snacks, please. :)




This is Gretchen. She's a lovely, accommodating, good-natured dog who fits right in with all the wolfie brats. She lives for food, food, lovins, food, cat poo, cat food, food, couch loafing, and oh yeah, food.
Gretchen was originally a stray, so we don't know what she is but the overall consensus is rottie x pitbull. She's around 8 years old.

Look at those eager faces! This is actually a great triumph. The one on the right is Timber, who has always been extremely shy.
Timber recently moved in with Matsi, since she lost her mama Jasmine earlier this year. (Jazzy outlived both her parents, but succumbed to breast cancer at 14.)

Matsi, an ~35% F2 wolfdog. (Yep, her lineage is known and she's actually an F2. Interesting, huh? Also interesting is that she looks very husky-like, but has hardly any husky in her!)
Matsi turned 7 this spring.

Mika is Matsi's sister. She has also made great strides in socialisation...but she's still pretty timid.
This is her snail impersonation.


Mika now lives with 'Texas Nine' rescue Journey, a low content malamute/shepherd mix. They get along great. He's approximately her age--around 7 years old.


Journey still hates me.

Hi Jupie!


New year, same ol' Jupiter. She is a riot. One of the 'Texas Nine' dogs, she is guarded at first but very loving once she gets to know you. Jupie knows some tricks and *loves* her walks. She is a low-to-mid content shepherd/malamute mix, and a super cool dog.


Jupie still lives with Merlin. They've upgraded to a better location, though! This place has two rooms, a pool, a cool clubhouse, all sorts of trees, and a great view of the critters in the woods. ;)

Merlin really likes the new smellums. That, and Jupie, and food. He has simple pleasures.
Merlin is a 7 year old, 72% wolfdog. He's from excellent lines but he's had a rough life and must be handled with care. However, we've managed to brush him, and some of our other 'unsocials', a few times this year--for Merlin, that's progress!

Aww, it's Lucien!


Just a little camera-shy today...but one awesome dog.
Lucien and his much-younger girlie Sonya (he's 9, and she is 2) are spending a few months with me while their owners are takin' care of bizness. ;) It's kind of a treat to have Lucian here, since he came from the same rescue as his daddy, my sweet Shasta.
Sonya is a wiggly wild child, and hard to get pictures of--but very, very loving. Isn't she a pretty girl?


We still have New Guinea Singing Dogs!
Melody got an amazing home here in North Carolina. Maestro is still looking for his...and he wants to be the only dog, thank you very much. Maestro really enjoyed the scent I rubbed on his platform...

Tommy and Amanda are still here, too. They are senior Singers, but full of spirit and lots of fun to interact with.
Right now, they are pretty much joined at the hip...

(Well, not exactly the *hip*...it's Singer breeding season and Amanda's in heat. She is sterile, no worries--but suffice to say they are both very happy dogs at the moment.)

And then we have the Beast with Two HEADS. ;-)


Silly Mama-Dog.


Mama-Dog, whose actual name was "Ladybug", was brought here by a Good Samaritan who found her running loose and starving--with three tiny pups to feed. Not kidding, look at this poor baby when she got here. :-(



Turns out the owner had quit feeding her. She escaped the fence and began hunting on her own...
She was supposed to be "half wild-caught wolf"; another example of how sorely misrepresented these guys often are. Mama-Dog is a piebald sable Siberian husky.
Despite her neglect, she is not even food-aggressive with people! She's an exceptionally friendly, easygoing, enthusiastic dog, who LOVES other dogs. (She lives with Orion right now, and they play and play.)
She has put weight back on, been spayed and vetted, and REALLY needs a family of her own. She is *not* cat safe (thinks they are food) and needs a secure 6 foot fence...but if you can offer those things, she will gladly pay you back with fetch games, hugs, kisses, and amusing antics.

More Mama-Dog:



This is Chiyo. He was another emaciated stray we picked up recently, and looks to be beagle x Border collie. This little dude just wants love. He's gained weight and been vetted, and with any luck, will have a forever-home soon!

Now, on to the stray & feral cats we care for...
JUST KIDDING! (While we have inherited lots of stray and feral cats, I'm going to stop here, at the dogs. ;) After all, this is the WolfDOG Project!
