** No Singers were harmed in the making of these pics. ;-) **
Seriously though...interspersed amongst the "regular" pics were some that I thought were neat, in that they showed body language and/or how expressive these little guys are.
This sequence shows male pup Denny meeting Rusty for the first time. He was very intimidated! Rusty (on the right) was a total gentleman about the whole thing.
Still shaken up...
Changed my mind! (Found my cajones?)
Poor Rusty.
Same pup, VERY respectful of (and submissive to) my Basenji girl.
He and his sister both wanted Jumanji to play.
I thought this was neat...a Besenji profile compared to a Singer profile.
Little girl Donna being sweet with Rusty.
Look at those sweet, smiley faces. ;-) Awwww.
Adorable Stevie and her submissive, 'airplane ears' face.
Not quite sure about you guys yet...
Winchester a bit uncertain, too.
"Okay, I think I like you now." Rubbing his cheek on me like a kittycat.
Speaking of kitty cats: Winchester stalking one of mine. (The cat was lying just outside the fence, smirking at him.)
A better look at the kitty-stalking, in a youtube video:
It's not necessarily the dog barking furiously at the cat that you have to worry about--it's the quiet, still one who just looks very intense. Doesn't much matter what kind of canine, stalky is stalky.
This is how smart Rusty is. He's up there quiet as a mouse, until a human comes along--then starts to cry and look pleadingly at the human...over at the girl he wants to be in with...back at the human again.
"Oh, please?"
Poor worried Melody. "Not Looking at YOU." (Love that one white sock!)
Tommy and Amanda got to meet Maestro and Melody. The girls were fine. It was Tommy I was worried about, but as it turns out, he was the passive one!
Maestro decides that Amanda should be HIS girl.
After that, he got much more intimidating. (Guess he's still got some testosterone left.) These three pics were pulled out of a larger batch of random shots, over the course of a minute or two--but they were the most "telling" ones.
The pics make his assertiveness more obvious than it was "in real life", which is one reason I love taking lots of pics during canine interactions.
Oops. (Blurry because it was snapped accidentally, as I jumped up to scold them apart.) Then, I scooped up Tommy. Poor Tommy. ;-o
There was no damage at all to either dog, it was just fierce looking posturing on Maestro's part.
Interestingly enough, while we were walking Tommy and Amanda afterwards, Maestro called and called to her. He would like ALL the girls, please. *g*
